I have an Australian based online store & have been using Hands On Hosting since my store was first initiated. I was very new to managing a website and the technical jargon that goes with it was way beyond my knowledge. Thankfully Hands On have been there for me all of the way. I've not only been thankful for their fabulous customer service & fast responses, but also grateful for their patience and perseverance in explaining things to me. The Staff at Hands on Hosting go above and beyond their call of duty. For someone like me - every little bit of support and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Grate service! Excellent. I moved from my old hosting company and not everything went smooth :( But extremely fast and professional support solved my problems - now my site is running. And I should say comparatively with my old hosting company the handsonwebhosting running much faster! Support is fast and great, servers are fast. Everything is JUST GREAT! If You think what company to choose for Your xcart - Handsonwebhosting is GREAT!!!!

AWFUL host. Our site is down all the time. We are now down ("suspended") because we have actually achieved web traffic due to marketing, so kiss that marketing effort and spend goodbye.
Even worse than the constant crashes is the AWFUL SUPPORT. There is no phone number to call. Live Chat is NEVER online, despite the 8am-8pm Central claims. Hands On Web Hosting feels and behaves like a company going out of business, and unless you want your company to follow suit, I would avoid HOWH at all cost.
Finally, the arrogance of the man in charge is staggering. There is never an apology, an honest answer or anything other than evasiveness, rigidness, and misinformation. They won't even admit to server problems at their end, even after resolution -even though this is exceptionally easy to prove.
TERRIBLE host. I don't write things like this lightly, but I am losing money every minute I stay with them. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE. ALSO - BEWARE OF THE KICKBACKS TO WEB DEVELOPERS FOR USING THIS HOST; IT CLOUDS JUDGEMENT AND LEADS TO BAD RESULTS. WEB DEVELOPERS - TAKING KICKBACKS FOR USING THIS HOST WILL EARN YOU PENNIES AND WILL SEVER YOUR RELATIONSHIPS IN MONTHS; BE CAREFUL.

This particular clients website has been offline 3 times in the past 62 days. Once was due to a MySQL Issue within their site - Ticket entered at 09:51, issue resolved at 10:06. Another was an xcart_sessions table corruption - ticket entered at 13:29 and resolved at 13:35. The most recent ticket was due to excessive CPU usage. In order to maintain the stability of the server, the site was required to be suspended in order to resolve the issue. The client then opted to upgrade to a larger package which allowed more resources. Since then, there have been no further issues on the account.

To say that Hands-on is going out of business, or that I don't care about the business is simply untrue. We have provided web hosting for more than 15 years and will continue to do so. Each step of the way I am personally involved and invested in the company. I have reviewed every ticket in our system since the client has been active with us (8 tickets in 468 days). Each ticket was responded to timely and professionally, including apologies where the issue was a fault of our server. We pride ourselves on the transparency of our work. When an issue comes up, we announce it openly and publicly, especially when it's our fault.

Again I am sorry that you have had the experience that you have had at Hands-on Web Hosting. Excessive CPU and Memory usage can not be tolerated as it affects the performance of other users on the server. I am sorry that we were forced to suspend your site during the high spikes on your site. On each occasion we notified the client, suspended the site and then worked to get the site online as soon as the inbound flood stopped. The solution to this event required the user to upgrade to a larger hosting package with more resources available. Once this was performed, there have been no further issues on the site.

We were really happy with Hands On initially, unfortunately they recently made a huge mistake on one of our servers - and deleted all of our public IP's from our network card - thus bringing down our sites for an hour at peak time. This in itself is really shabby but not the end of the world. The real problem is that rather than just apologise they were very aggressive and evasive. Despite the evidence from Pingdom and other tools (and lack of sales) showing the sites were down for the hour they insisted they were only down for a few minutes, later extending their estimate to 20 mins, and later not commenting any further at all apart from to suggest that if our clients are unhappy with the downtime then they can seek compensation from us for having chosen Hands On in the first place. Lesson learned, we'll be moving all our servers elsewhere.

So glad I switched hosting companies!

I was renting a dedicated server from an (undisclosed company) and it was costing me $100/month. If I wanted even the most basic support, I had to pay for it. I thought the speed on the dedicated server was reasonably good.

THEN, I decided to switch to Hands-on Web Hosting! I am paying roughly 1/3 the price of what I was paying, they are very helpful and have gone above and beyond the call of duty. And my web pages are being served at TWICE the speed of my old, dedicated server. Over THREE times the speed while serving pages in a secure layer.

In summary, I am thrilled with the service and value I am getting from this company. Thank you Hands-on Web Hosting!

I wish all companies could react the same way as Hands On. We moved to them to run X Cart.
From Day 1 when we moved to them the service has been excellant and has never crashed. Whenever we have a query or problem Connor and his team have resolved within minutes.

I was afraid to switch hosting companies but these guys are great! They helped through everything. I'm so glad I did. I understand many more things now because they were patient to walk me through the set up process and are quick to answser when you need help. I'll definitely stay with them. Its so worth it! They know customer service!
